Antagonism to English is groundless.

This refers to the editorial “No Angrezi, Please” (Nov 5). The very idea of one language damaging the other sounds ridiculous. Basically, language is a living entity which thrives and throbs with the culture. In the present globalization, linguistic chauvinism is as anomalous as the insistence to wear a dhoti in a corporate meeting. English, though some may call it a British legacy, is an indispensable aspect of present life. Starting with a toothpaste wrapper to multi-crore business deals, the language has become ubiquitous. Sadly, language policy is now another tool of mass manipulation for the politicians marked with duplicity. How can India, a super power in waiting, afford the aversion to English?
